God Bless the Military

Normally I don't write as you know, but felt that this was an important subject. I have found that unless you are directly involved with someone who is in the military and overseas you don't quite get how much of a sacrifice that person makes. Of course this is is important to me, James having gone twice. My family is full of people who have served and are serving in the military. These people miss birthday's, graduations, dance recitals, anniversaries and all the other things that we take for granted that we are able to share with our loved ones. So where is this coming from you may ask, James being at home for the most part of the last three years. My friend Jessica's husband and my friend from high school, Micheal is coming home from a year long deployment in Iraq tomorrow, he is already in country, but will actually get to go home and slept in his bed tomorrow night. So I just wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU to him for all his hard work, the time spent overseas and putting his life on the line for my family and friends, well for all of us. I also want to say THANK YOU to Jessica, for supporting him and being his rock at home that he could look forward to coming home to. For being his support back at home.

I don't want to forget all the other men and women overseas and the ones who are in the country, but are away from their families, whether it is their AT, training for school, or boot camp. I have one more shout out and that is to Chris and Traci. THANK YOU to Chris, he volunteered to go back and help the younger guys in his unit after he has already be twice. And all the mothers out their can understand this one, THANK YOU to Traci for not killing him as he left her and two kids at home. But for supporting him in his choice, which was selfless. She is also the a Key Volunteer Coordinator, a job in itself. One that helps all the families in the unit.

I will post pictures of Micheal's returning home celebration when I get some from Jessica. It is easy to forget how hard of a situation it is when your husband is gone, even harder when you have kids to take care of as well, as yourself. So lets not forget about them, the war is still going on. People are still going over there to serve and putting their lives on the line. At least we could say a little prayer for them, not to much for all they do for us.
